Hurricane Lisa made landfall in Belize City, Belize, on November 2, 2022, as a Category 1 hurricane. The United States National Hurricane Center said that the Hurricane had maximum sustained winds of seventy-five mph (120 kph) at landfall. This hurricane produced rainfall amounts of four to six inches with local amounts up to ten inches across Belize, and northern Guatemala.
Approximately five hundred houses were destroyed. It is estimated that 5,000 houses were partially destroyed in the Belize District.

This project will be implemented within twelve months.
This programme of assistance has been made possible with funding from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that represent 60% of the total budget.
Working with the Ministry responsible for agriculture, WFP will provide livelihoods support through vouchers to approximately eight hundred smallholder farmers in the most affected districts in Belize – Cayo, Orange Walk and Stann Creek districts.
